    Trixia Salonga

Hi! I'm Trixia and welcome to my slice of life. I'm not your average blogger, I'm a hybrid of multi-dimensional shoujo, a rare breed of legal loli and a unique original producer of ideas and inspiration. My path goes on the other side of the road which is less traveled, where thrill and excitement rests. This blog holds my inner thoughts, experiences, opinions and out-of-the-ordinary theories which I keep as a journal of my life's highlights. Contact me at reshadollyprincess@gmail.com for collaboration

Yesterday, we had to meet someone in Makati for business and that's when we saw several KFC branches in the area. People there seemed to be in the best mood since the day feels nice and cold, a few rain drops lowers the hot temperature of summer and because of that, the place is inviting to go for a walk even with foreigners.

We chose an overlooking view of KFC, mostly because my partner failed to the notice the bigger branch we just passed by. Anyway, the branch was tiny and at that time their comfort room is under maintenance, I held my self which I hate it, I've done hydration therapy first thing I arrived at home.

Alright, so the garlic butter chicken. When we were about to sit I had such an embarassing moment when my stomach growled loudly that the group where I would be sitting stared at me. I could not look up and just played with my partners new phone. The line wasn't really long but it took 15 minutes till he got all the orders, I don't know why it took such amount of time to finally get the food.

When he sat, the garlic and butter aroma seeped through my nose, I helped her arranged the orders on the table and got very oily hands which I tried to wipe out with a piece of tissue, the garlic smell could not be removed. So, if you're going to try this out, bring a sanitizer!

Moving on, the chicken is drenched in oil, I am expecting my neck would hurt again from hypertension, I did not eat breakfast anyway that's why I'm famished. The butter rice was aromatic as well, and when I took a bite the imagination that seeped through was myself enjoying an asian breakfast in a nipa hut surrounded by locals enjoying their first course of a meal at home surrounded by nature, the dish was cooked by their household cook. The chicken skin was slightly crunchy and extremely savory, a small bite squeezes so much oil and you'll need to wipe it down immediately because your lips will most likely be drenched in it.

A warning though, I did not expect the chicken to have spiciness, it's not too spicy though, but I worried my stomach would react since I did not have breakfast and I might end up at the hospital again, gladly it didn't.

Since I did not have the opportunity to have breakfast, this completed the lack of my first meal, I finished the rice quickly and went to order another rice, but they gave us a plain one even if we asked to buy the butter rice.
Anyway, the second try with the plain rice wasn't as satisfying unlike the butter rice, I even felt that I could not finish eating it since they didn't jive with the taste of the chicken.

The inner part of the chicken was nicely cooked however, the taste was bland, the flavor stayed concentrated mostly at the skin area.  We paired the chicken with fries and sprite a splash of freshness of the soda hit the spot of great thirst and tingling sensation on my throat, I couldn't stop drinking.

It was fun to watch people crossing the street while dining in to my favorite food chain and to try their newest offer was a great treat to enjoy a new taste, something which I've been hoping for. However, it would be nice if they could serve us the butter rice on the second round.

Today I've purchased noiseless blog theme for $7.00. It was exquisite and minimal, I get inspired to take beautiful photograph. We have so many new things lately including a new computer whose owner owns a computer shop. We were surprised to have a whole set of PC, the performance was so fast and incredible, you can see how much they have maintained it, it has a lot of games though. We also changed into beauty lights. See, we had so many new things they are all for great investment for the future. A new writing app keeps me very inspired , I've paired with a marble theme keyboard and damn minimalism at its finest.

The blog has such a simplistic beauty that I was dying to have since, the menu bar has become my most favorite area, because it has a category section which I always look for when searching for a theme, and its like this theme knows what I need most.

There was a simple line framing at the sides, it looks so professional and sophisticated. You've got everything you need despite of the simple design. This minimalism I know is also being like by Jose Rizal, we visited and saw his actual business card on a tour to shoot for work and I can definitely tell he is a minimalist. Wish I could be minimalist all through out, I'm still working on that.

The menu is not the only thing I struggle to look for a minimalism convenience, but the title name of my blog is a simple font yet aligned and designed completely uncluttered and its what I wanted for so long.

When I loaded the website, it was truly a jackpot. My content loaded swiftly, no lags and truly responsive in nature. While designing the page and writing for a new post I can't help but listen to calming cafe sounds on the background and my work flowed easily.  Since, I've been starting to be happy and contented with what I have achieved lately, great blessings we're attracted and I received gifts. Everything is laid out for optimum inspiration and I would agree it has become a recharged.

This was my former theme style years back, sort of a horizontal individual feed of latest posts, I had a list style before and I wasn't pleased with how some of the buttons functions, I'm not sure maybe its because i didn't pay for it and used the free version? Anyway, it was tough to customize and this seemed to give all the function I need and its highly aesthetic.

I was worried that when google plus was removed, the comment area would be unfunctioning , but it was not affected. This time, I am enthusiatic to capture images that will suit the blog. I shall do my best, you know how hard it is for me to keep on the theme hehe... but I shall try.

With half the year over and done with, a lot of you have probably settled into a routine with 2019. Your impressions of the year might be positive or negative, but even if New Year was a few months ago, there's tons of different ways you could spice up the rest of the year. Whether it's learning a new skill or trying a new adventure, any one of the items on this short list will be enough to add a new spin to your 2019!

    Volunteer at an Animal Shelter

Dogs (and cats) are a man's best friend, and what better way to show how much you love our furry, feathered, and scaled companions by volunteering at an animal shelter! There's a shortage of volunteers at any animal rights organization or shelter, and they'll be sure to appreciate the head. Try asking at PAWS Philippines if they have any open slots, and see if you can sign up for an orientation. Volunteering can be difficult but incredibly fulfilling work, and who knows? You might even come home with a new companion yourself.

    Learn a New Skill

There's never a wrong time to keep improving yourself, and with the world changing so much around us, learning new skills is pretty important. Try a new hobby like sewing or cooking, or something that'll help you get better at your job. Business Insider recently reported that some of the top new skills being learned in Singapore are blockchain, design, and workflow automation. Picking up any of these skillsets might give you the boost you need in your work, and make you a more efficient and effective team player.

    Go to a Nature Preserve

The Philippines is blessed with a huge number of natural wonders and resources, and there's no better time than the present to really go out and appreciate that. From rolling hills to incredible beaches to sheer cliffs and mountains, the Philippines has got it all for any nature-loving adventurer. Try visiting the Masungi Georeserve and trying out some of their tour packages, which involve hiking with incredible views, and the famous hanging spiderweb. It's one way to really show an appreciation for the wonders of nature that's both challenging and fun.

    Start Art Collecting

One thing that you probably haven’t  thought about trying before is collecting art. That's right, art collecting! The Philippine arts scene is vibrant and alive, and you can see an incredible range of talent across dozens of different media. The Philippine scene has something for everybody, and there's no better time to start appreciating it than now. Daydreaming in Paradise has a quick primer on local artists who are shaping Philippine art that'll provide some background on the who's who in the art world. Primers like these are great resources for people who are just starting out with art collecting, and you might learn something new.

As the years go by and you start to get older, so too do your parents and grandparents. The same people who probably took care of you as a child probably need the same type of care now. Filipino culture is defined by love of family, and there's no better way to give back to the older generation by taking up more responsibility now that you're a young adult. If you're still not sure where to start, here's a short list of how you can show your grandparents you care.

    Help Them Out with Chores

Only a small percentage of senior citizens in the Philippines are currently staying in geriatric care facilities. While BusinessMirror reports that many in the industry are hopeful that will change, in the meantime your grandparents might be staying with you or in their own homes. Take the time to assist them in whatever it is they need done at home, whether it's senior-proofing the household or cooking meals. This will lessen their household chores, and allow them to have more time for rest and relaxation like they need.

    Check up on their health

According to AgeingAsia's report on the ageing population in the Philippines, the older a population, the more the need for health services. As your grandparents get older, their immune systems begin to weaken, lifestyle diseases begin to surface, and their bone density lessens. This unfortunately means that they'll have to take more maintenance medicines and go in for regular check-ups with their doctors. Doing so can be taxing for many senior citizens, and having a companion can often ease the burden. Accompanying your grandparents to their check-ups is a sure-fire way to show them just how much they and their health mean to you.

    Assist them with errands

Getting around can be very difficult for your  grandparents, as with age can come reduced mobility. Something as simple as going to the store for extra groceries can end up being a production and take up too much time and energy. You can show your grandparents just how much you care by offering to pick up their medicines from the drug store, or going grocery shopping for them. Doing any errand for them, no matter how small, will have a large impact on their well-being and quality of life.

    Make Sure They're Protected

As your grandparents get older, the chances of major illness, injury, and or hospitalization increase as well. Getting them an insurance plan like Paramount Direct's PrimeCare Cash Planwill help ease their financial burden in case of hospitalization. This insurance plan guarantees acceptance, so no need for lengthy medical exams or questionnaires. Its premiums also don't increase with age, unlike other programs, and with coverage that extends up to the age of 80 that's a definite plus. Let your grandparents be freed from financial worries by making sure they have insurance coverage that's affordable and tailored specifically for them.

Lately, I have a hang-over of the greatest fight in the north of GOT and being invited over to a museum full of history was by far the best feeling to appreciate that we have past similar to theirs, less the dragons, I guess.

The coolest part of our history is that our very own countrymen, Filipinos which were referred as Indios at that time, have carved their own interpretations of God, The Holy Family, the saints which in their coming from their own creativity preserved a timeline wherein Catholicism was introduced.

    Entrance Fee:

Free for 6 months starting May 2, 2019

    Location:

Corner Arzobispo and Anda Streets, Intramuros, Manila (beside the Arzobispado de Manila)

    Operating hours:

    Tuesdays to Fridays, 9:00 am - 5:00pm
    Fully Airconditioned with restrooms

We were near the site as early as 9:00 am because we had to cover a shoot hours before and waited till the opening of the museum.

It was a short walk from Manila Cathedral where we passed by, from where I first saw it was from the side, still unpainted, which I thought was the entrance but there actual entrance on the other side.

    First Floor highlights

Once inside, we were greeted by the carved statue and a signing table on the side. The first floor doors open up and a bright room with all the historical pieces are displayed.

The museum's current in-house exhibition presents the story of evangelization of the Philippines from the Perspective of the Filipinos.

1). Imagenes / Indigena and Imaculate Conception room

At my back are the carved depictions of women with inspirations from virgin mary.

When the Spaniards came, they were in shock with Indio women because they were bare-breasted and they had no manners, so they set up a model for the women to emulate, and the best role model is none other than Immaculate Conception or the Virgin Mary.

    2. The Religious Order

These carved wooden statues from different interpretations of God and saints.

    3. The Patronato Real and the Establishment of Parishes

Laid at the floor are pieces which helped Filipinos learn how to combine each piece some which are used for altars.

A water reservoir during the Spanish era preserved.

An undiscovered area which is a mystery to the public. Just look at how eery that look like.

    Second Floor Highlights

    4. The Indio response

What I like the second floor is that there were stunning displays which clearly used by the churches, shiny pieces that seem to tantalize and dozens of carving interpretations of God and The Holy family.
The museum is located in two important reconstructions inside the walled city:

The San Ignacio Church and The Mission House of the Society of Jesus

    5. Religious Colonial Paintings and
    6. Establishment of a Parish and Sacred Vessels.

A magnificent display of the Eucharist and Virgin Mary, the intrinsic designs that gives of baroque vibe can still be appreciated even with a silver medium.

These Sacred Vessels does give that GOT feels but these silversmiths were made by firstly Chinese, then eventually Filipinos learned to do them.

    Third Floor highlights

The third floor consists of a cute miniature replica of Churches and Spanish houses. If you'll check closely some are made with the tiniest detail, if you love miniatures, this is one floor that you'd like to visit.

If you move further to the side they have a room which has a projector showing films about the museum.

Also on the third floor, you'll see small bones of animals and porcelain Chinese pieces full of history and the one souvenir and future plans for a historical mall and cafe about to emerge. They also have a map of Intramuros and so.

You've got to check this future mall and cafe, they plan it to harmonize with the historical pieces in their accent. So it's like a mall museum cafe!

I've enjoyed every bit of history that I've seen in fact it reminded me of my purpose and inspiration. If you've visited Intramuros, come check the place out!
