Hello Everyone! Lately, I've been really inspired with some Korean vlogs and I saw one where he/she made a simple tutorial on how to do a minimalistic korean-inspired phone interface design. Well, she did it on Iphone but when I checked on my Samsung I got pretty much have most of the needed widgets to set one up. All we need is a simple check whether the phone has capacity to do so.

    How to Set-up:

    1. Check whether your phone's home interface has widget for:

                    a. Picture / Photo
                    b. A white or minimal memo

Both of these you can get in an app store but I decided to check mine if the factory settings already has it? Oh, Why do this? Simple, I don't want to burden my phone with too much apps.

    2. Think of a color palette.

    3. Download Pinterest for "grid" wallpaper phone designs. Grid wallpaper proves helpful to visually arrange even your most busy apps on your phone. It helps create visual guidance on where to place the widgets or the app icons, making it easy for the eyes.

    4. Download for Korean inspired photos: It can be anything from, fashion to food, or interior even your own signature! There's so many to choose from as long as you have a color scheme you follow, everything will be set aesthetically.

    5. Add a memo with an inspiring message. I wrote mine to inspire me, Remembering my strongest asset, and the goal I plan to do with it.

The rest would depend on you, I added a google search since the widget is perfect for the theme and it readily accessible to search terms on what I need. Also, don't forget to arrange your apps in a folder so they don't look messy, Although if you prefer for the apps to all show, you can add another page containing the apps so you can just press the home button and you're set to a minimalistic look all the time.

box of Clover Bits Chicken Flavor and Taco-Bar-Q
This is not what you think it is~ I'm not selling this like in Sari-Sari store. I just thought to arrange them here, but I know in a few minutes, they'll be gone. I call them the Philippine Dagashi~ The word "Dagashi" refers to cheap snacks and candies sold in Japan, but we have that here too~ This one's we found at Puregold Shelf ~ Clover Bits Chicken Flavor and Taco-Bar-Q by Leslie's. Just from the nostalgic look of it, my partner would definitely be drawn to it.

    PACKAGING

Much like a traditional Philippine Dagashi, these come in palm-sized packaging and the contents are really tiny. Its main goal is to let the kids enjoy snacks at some affordable pricing, usually priced less than a few cents or one peso coin.

Upon opening the package, it definitely brings me back~ It's like opening a small present. There are two ways to open it. One is, you'll use one of the tooth-like edges to provide an anchor for your hand to continue making a slit and the second one is you'll apply to pull force from both sides of the packages which is quite satisfying.

    THE TASTE AND SIZE

Clover chips for me have a finger size serving per chip, but this one seems to be even smaller! Like clover chips made for dwarfs! It's so cute. The Taco Bar-B-Q tastes saltier than that of chicken flavor, which is mild, and because the servings are so small, you won't notice you're munching in the whole pack! It just doesn't feel like the amount served is enough.

    WAYS TO EAT

    There are both ways,

    One,

Pick-up those Tinie tiny pieces one by one and savor the flavor in each chip, or

    Two,

Just let it drop in your mouth like how Hotaru does it.

711 tonkotsu and miso ramen bowls philippines review
(This is not a sponsored post, I'm not doing sponsorships for now and focusing on just documenting things I love~ enjoy a sponsor-free post!)

Oh, shit! At last, they are serving Miso and Tonkotsu Ramen Bowls at our local 7-11 Stores and they even added that this ramen is best paired with a seasoned boiled egg. Ramen bowls are offered at P99.00 each and per egg is at P35 each.

Once we finally got the chance to get one (definitely made sure it will rain! because ramen are best enjoyed during cold weather), I had prepared my kimono and head to 7-11 to pick up the bowls.

We went after lunchtime and in an instant, we knew what was selling like hotcakes - there was only one Tonkotsu Ramen left on the shelf!

oooh, Okay. I see what's going here. There were so many stacks of Miso Ramen left, but we came there to try them both so we picked them up together with the hard-boiled egg.

    The packaging:

Since we were picking up other groceries after this, we left these bowls to be picked up at a later time. Some of the broth spilled while we walked home. At home when we were opening it up, I had my partner open it for me, why? The lids seemed too soft to lift up, like the whole bowl will spill!

My partner wished that the bottom bowl would be a bit sturdier so that when you open the lid, the bottom won't come with it.

THE AWARD FOR AROMA GOES TO:

The moment we opened it, the Aroma of both Ramen seeped into my nostrils and I had mixed reactions. The miso one definitely had that aroma of "preserved", much like the strong aroma from Korean soybean paste, I'm sorry but it was a downer for me. But what caught my attention was the creamy colored bowl with a garlic-aroma and I can really discern the pork broth from it, it was so attractive to me that I can't help but pick it up.

I've taken one, two, and continuous sip to the bowl and I could not stop, like when Soma does this to his clients, gladly it didn't tear off my Kimono because I wasn't wearing anything underneath, haha.

The pork was so soft, I didn't need to bite into it, and the rich creamy taste makes it so addicting that I feel really hungry after I finished the bowl. I did not even notice, maybe due to my hunger, I finished the whole bowl.

Noodles are springy and slim, the servings seemed fair to me. It had a Naruto and seaweed side dish which are both soft and gives a touch of Asian and truly fun addition to the meal.

I had the seasoned boiled egg on the sides and I think it tastes fine. It was cold since it wasn't reheated, but it was cooked just right, the color is and texture are both agreeable.

My partner mentioned that Miso Ramen Bowl did taste like "Miso" for him, I did have a taste too but it really wasn't to my liking.

After this meal, we had other noodles because we were still hungry and felt the servings were not enough.

Overall, the shelves already demonstrated which one holds the strongest contender and I think I couldn't agree more that when I see another one of that bowl of Ramen, I will, for sure, pick it up in an instant before it runs out.

Which one of them was your winner, guys?

    anime sandwich

Lately, we had some cravings for fries and sandwiches. We immediately giggled remembering the fries Saitama had in the family restaurant ~ and the sandwiches prepared during the card game in Izakaya Nobu.

Bread, onion, burger patty pork, cheese, american maple leaf crisscut fries
    The Ingredients

    Ground Pork
    Lettuce
    Cheese
    Onion
    Loaf Bread
    Mayonnaise of choice
    anime sandwich

The custom in Japan is to cut the edges of the sandwiches. In our case, however we did not since we like eating that part too.

    Japanese sandwiches

I've initially cut it triangular but I think just cutting it in half is already good choice and they stand up quite nicely to fit the plate.

Clubhouse sandwiches had a history being served to those that would like to grab a bite while playing cards. A historical finger-licking experience, I think. For me, this is what Japan has excelled to make. The perfect sandwich.

I wouldn't miss the American Maple Leaf Crisscut Fries we also bought to complete the set-up!
Damn, it so delicious and nutritious at the same time, it feels sinful!

I wonder, What should we cook next?

    making my blog signature title

The image below is a signature for blog posts.

I'm still experimenting on the style, design and etc. so there might be changes, it's been a long time and I really miss making these things for my blog.

    How did I do this?

    1. I head to alienwp to generate the size, but since I took a liking to one of their designs, I went ahead and made one here.

    2. Uploaded my photo at postimg. I copied the Direct Link.

    3.

In Your Blogger Blog, Go to Settings > Post Template and pasted this code:

    <center><br><img src=https://yourimageURLhere></center>
then, replaced the URL of img src to the direct link.

That's it! Enjoy and you can do your own designs!

When we were walking around our neighborhood, we saw homegrown pumpkins being sold. They're all grown cute, so we bought several. I think we bought too many that I feel we could consume!

Moving on, we had a pumpkin feast and our meals consisted of pumpkins! Pumpkin soup, pumpkin side dish, fried pumpkin... it feels like we're drowning pumpkins! I felt that excitement of Halloween going near but I remembered that we're all quarantined, so yeah. There might be no cosplay trick or tricking in our neighborhood. It feels sad, but. I got the perfect idea to enjoy it! Maybe I'll post it if I can.. See you soon.

My small peaceful days start with her.
Her big googly eyes widely staring as she tries to wake me up.
She knows when its time to wake up.
She would do her best to make sure I get to wake up on time.

It might not look like it, but even before the word "Quarantine" came into trend, I was already in quarantine at home and doing work online, or even before when I was still in high school back 2002. I'll just watch anime most times.

The technology is so much better than it was before and I never ran out of things to do or take my interest in.

When she came, I never really thought that I could enjoy my Hikikomori life, even more, ~ She is so adorable that I feel I don't deserve her sometimes.

I am enthralled at how fast she picks up her training lessons, I think maybe it's because I make it look more like a fun and exciting game rather than making it look more of a training, but still, she gets a new lesson in a few minutes.

She's the type who couldn't handle too much excitement, especially when she discovers something new, she goes gaga over it and couldn't handle her bladder. I even remember how much she stared at the rain when she first saw it. Most times she is mistaken as a cat, I wouldn't attest that her companions were cats before we had her.

When there is so much tension in the air, it's like she can understand. She would draw attention to her and do her cute moves. In an instant, my face frown becomes a smile and my heart feels light. At one time, I was on real stress and it resulted in terrible gastritis again. She stood by me and check all the time, although she does seem to be confused, I can see her worried reactions and watched me like a hawk until I got better.

With all these wonderful things she has given to me, she only wants a tummy rub. oh, she's such a darling. I really wish I could have given her more. Before COVID, we had planned to go on a trip and I was going to take her with me, but the times have changed. Yet, our minute, hour, or second we spend on each other is far precious already, and going on a trip with her will be a great adventure for both of us. Maybe, we'll do that at the right time.

For now, we build a lot of memories together.
