    Weakest Beast

Starring Yui Aragaki as Akira Shinkai and Ryuhei Matsuda as Kosei Nemoto, Weakest Beast is written by Akiko Nogi. Weakest Beast is the 4th drama in which Aragaki and Akiko Nogi work together.

Weakest Beast follows the story of Akira Shinkai and Kosei Nemoto. Despite being loved by everyone, perfect-girl Akira Shinkai wants to break free from her painstakingly-maintained image and be her true self. She meets a street-smart ladies’ man, Kosei Nemoto, at a craft beer bar where working adults gather to unwind. As charming as he appears to be, he trusts no one and is cynical about everything.

Despite having an extensive filmography with a wide range of roles, Matsuda has less TV drama works, especially in romance genre. “I believe everyone has an unseen side of him and the portrayals of that side of him vary from person to person. Be it distinctive or vague, I hope to portray them in a style that is unique to Nemoto,” said Matsuda, who is best known for his role as a part of Japanese gangster in the sequel of The Raid, called Berandal.

Ryuhei Matsuda also shared his hope for the role that he plays on the drama, “This role is going to be fun and I am looking forward to it. It would be great if there were twists to the fabric of relationships between men and women. I hope to portray the role of Kosei Nemoto based on my intuitive feelings of the character; a character that will speak whatever that comes to his mind,” said Matsuda.

Finally collaborating again after 11 years, Aragaki shared her experience in working together with Matsuda, “It has been 11 years since Matsuda and I last starred together in a movie; I am elated to work with him again and it is a treasured opportunity for me. Back then, I was still a high school kid. This time, I will do my best to showcase a different set of acting skills and not to be a burden to him,” said Aragaki.

An original love comedy that delves into topics on the realities of adults, such as how one lives in society with concealed emotions, Weakest Beast follows the romantic journey of two complete strangers, who are never brutally honest and guard their hearts. Can they finally follow their instincts and let their feelings lead the way?
Weakest Beast airs every Saturday at 7.30PM, same week as Japan.

    Below is the interview:

    Weakest Beast Every Sat, 7.30PM (6.30PM JKT/BKK).

    Same Week as Japan

Starring: Yui Aragaki, Ryuhei Matsuda and Kei Tanaka.

Q 1: Please tell us about your role in the drama. Yui Aragaki:

My role, Akira, is a capable woman at work and has a boyfriend. While everything seems to be going smoothly, she's been tiring herself out from being too considerate. When she is working hard on something, she is always smiling. Even when she wants to convey something to people, she does it with a smile in order not to spoil the atmosphere. I think it is important to portray that, so I intentionally pull up my lips for a bigger smile.

Ryuhei Matsuda: My character, Kosei Nemoto, has a sharp tongue. While the characters that the other cast members portray cannot express themselves genuinely, my character, Kosei, is one who speaks his mind. I pay attention to bring out his aggressive personality in my portrayal of Kosei.

Q 2: How is the atmosphere like on set? Yui Aragaki: The director does not rehearse much. Even for the actual shoot, it was more or less done in just one take and we just keep going with the flow. It felt like the story unfolded quickly. But if there is something in particular that he wants to shoot, then the pace would slow down, and we will take things step by step. It was rather strange.

Ryuhei Matsuda: There are not too many rules and it is very enjoyable to work on the set.

Q 3: How do you feel about working with each other again after 11 years?

Yui Aragaki: As compared to the past, we have more topics to talk about now and I find it enjoyable. Ryuhei Matsuda: She was 18 when we first met. I was only in my early twenties, so we were both very young. I cannot recall what we talked about, but I feel that I have grown up.

Yui Aragaki: Indeed. Both have us have grown up. Ryuhei Matsuda: Aragaki-san is really mature.

Q 4: This is the 4th time that you are working on a drama scripted by Akiko Nogi. How do you feel about it and what are you looking forward to?

Yui Aragaki: I trust her a lot. I was very excited from when I was offered the role and looking forward to the shoot. I was able to start the shoot feeling very assured. I am grateful to be able to work with her on so many occasions.

Q 5: This is your (Ryuhei Matsuda) first lead role in a drama series with Nippon TV. What are your thoughts about it? Ryuhei Matsuda: I'll do my best (makes a pose)!

Q 6: What advice do you have for people who cannot express their true self? Yui Aragaki: Probably just "please watch the drama." Ryuhei Matsuda: (laughs) The answers are in the drama. Yui Aragaki: You are right! Ryuhei Matsuda: They might be able to relate. Yui Aragaki & Ryuhei Matsuda: And use them as references. Yui Aragaki: And feel encouraged and be understood … I think people who are struggling with expressing themselves and having a hard time could possibly find something that they can relate to. By watching how the characters meet and how they progress, we hope the audiences will feel better after watching the drama.

Ryuhei Matsuda: Just as what Aragaki-san said, be it work or relationship, there are people who cannot express themselves or do not understand their feelings or clueless about what they really need - this is a story about a helpless group of people. I think everyone would probably have experienced something similar. The actors in this drama play different characters. I hope the audiences can find themselves in these characters and enjoy the drama.

It took a month for me to realize and finally get to my healing process. If you're wondering what I mean by "healing" it's the literal word of alleviating or relief. What was I healing for?

To be totally honest, I've been damaged emotionally. I've dedicated my time, focus and effort for a benefit of others that I myself was thought like "maleficent". I was devastated and just like maleficent I wanted to close myself from the outside world, I generalize thoughts that all people are the same as the ones who have done harm and became "absent" from online community. In doing so, I went out of my shell, met new friends, reconnected with the physical world and learned to looked at the world clearly. It was not easy though, in 2 weeks I feel the need to go back and doubted myself, but after those weeks I began to realize that isn't so and finally was able to get back on track of what my goals are, everything that happened made me realize that I should never forget my real goal, maybe it's time to be a bit more selfish and focus on attainment on that goal. I've had given so much to everyone but what I was given back was all negativity, I was not expecting anything from people but least the negativeness have trampled and made my goals dim.

Surprisingly, I was healed by an old hobby I love. Creating memories and documenting them, we really are too much indulged into the high-tech era that there are beautiful experiences we often miss. I sincerely thank you my supporters for helping me get back on track, you've all noticed the changes and helped me get up and stand on my feet again.

The journey really isn't about how hard you fall but how you were able to rise up from falling.

I am thankful that this happened, so I realize what I should focus on and be more eager to attain my goals. Amazing how the best teacher gives you the best lesson that you'll never forget and it's the proof of bountiful living. For you, that is confused, all I can say is be patient, like really patient. Sometimes, it takes years for the answer to come, but it will come, everything does happen for a reason and I've witnessed and seen it so just trust on the journey and enjoy what life has to offer.

I  have now a regret in my life, my lingering regret is that I wish I had blogged this sooner  they'll be able to prepare for another season of these favorite anime that ended so just and left me with white dry eyes. Most of these anime are so good but it feels like they just jampacked the story in 12 episodes and ended up with no follow up season. Where's the justice men?

So, without further ado, here are my list of animes that I would want to have another season.

    1. Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san

This anime just ended two days ago and I was left shocked. I was definitely not ready that it ended up with a simple backstory of two ghost lovers with lingering regrets. I was looking forward to see that story of Yuuna disappearing because she finally was able to attain her lingering regret, it was on the first few episodes that I saw some type of sneak peak and i thought it'd come to that point. Huh.

Nevertheless, the story is great. I like the fact that Kogarashi feels like Ainz Ool Gown in strength because of his past possessions, and with his harem adventurous, but I never get the thought in mind that he is falling for Yuuna, she is after all, beautiful and strong-willed, which makes her unresistable. I still want to know if she really is a ghost because I'm already theorizing that she's a Yokai because of her difference with other bounded ghosts.

    2. Isekai Izakaya

You're kidding, right? Why did you just ended this all weeks awaited anime and whats more, you made me wait two weeks just for the next episodes to premiere, what is this, a torture?

Isekai Izakaya is my preferred amongst the both the Isekai anime's that was released few months ago. To compare with food, Isekai Izakaya is your all time favorite everyday classic dishes, while the other Isekai are those with rare, exquisite heavy meals ordered mostly on high end restaurants only. Isekai Izakaya is friendly and light weight to all audiences, and you'd always feel the joy and warmth of the regular customers in their diner.
Customers there were so supportive of the diner that they'd go lengths in times of the diner's need, thats something that you'd rarely see. Plus, I could definitely feel that there's cupid in the Air between Taishou and Shinobu, dont you guys wanna know too?

    3. Dragon Maid Kobayashi

This anime silently ended its last episode but with launch of new anime, the craze was directed and since then, not much is heard for the next season. Kobayashi's anime story has so much to tell, especially with Tohru's other world stories, there are just so many questions on what the other world is like and where all the cup D dragons came from, I don't think it all ends just there, right?

    4. Megalobox

I never or rarely even mentioned this on Geek radio, but I have been hooked up on non other than a unique concept of boxing using technology, and with the protagonist making way through the championship without this certain "gear". I am not specifying that I want to see more of his story because he has already retired, but I know on the list of top 200 megalo boxers, I want to know others story on their way to top. I see it as the side story of where Hunter X Hunter's Gon and Killua tower tournament fight. Now, give us more juice, please.

    5. The Master of Ragnarok and blesser of Eihenjer

This anime ended suddenly, that it felt really rude. There were so much other stories each event rises, but the ending focused to the main characters love story as if you've been fed in force of the words "and they lived happily ever after". I was able to watch the episodes because I have taken liking to knowing how they incorporate history and the anime's story. It felt like a modern way to learn history anime style, but ending it that sudden is like serving a bland dish without any condiments and sequenced course of appetizers, main dish, side dishes, dessert and so forth. Nevertheless, the anime has hope because I've seen some points where they  may open a new topic. Just the part of the history where protagonists follows was not even emphasized and expanded, it would be great to see all his accomplishments or challenges to building an epic empire of history.

    6. Monster Musume

Almost every one of my friends who are into monsters girls knows that this is their holy grail. It is because of this anime that Monster girls made their way to the top of the most wanted list. Now, how in the world did this anime not have another season around? You're joking, right? We, monster girl lovers would soon crawl under the studio's creator bed and choke them with our monster tails just to convince another season soon.

How about you? Do you have any other anime that ended abruptly and you'd want them to continue?
If you do, indicate through my comment and hoping this would be read by one of a good studio would continue in the future.
