🌸 Ozine Fest Sakura Festival 2026 – Joining the CLICK & UPLOAD Cosplay Photo Challenge at SM North EDSA

When we arrived at SM North EDSA for the Ozine Fest Sakura Festival, one of the first things we looked for was the registration booth for the CLICK & UPLOAD photo contest.

The mechanics were simple — photographers and cosplayers could participate by capturing photos around the mall and uploading them on Facebook for a chance to win cash prizes. Since we were already there and planning to shoot some photos anyway, we thought it would be fun to join.

The booth was located beside the stage, so it didn’t take long to find it. After registering, the organizers added us to a Messenger group chat, which is where participants could later submit the links to their Facebook entries.

Once that was done, we were officially part of the contest.

And of course… the photo-taking began.

Exploring SM North EDSA for Photos

Instead of staying in the busiest part of the event, we decided to walk around SM North EDSA and visit one of our favorite spots in the mall for photography.

We headed over to our usual studio spot, where the lighting and installations always make cosplay shots look more dramatic and creative. It’s one of those places where you can experiment with reflections, angles, and lighting without too much distraction from the crowd.

We spent quite a bit of time there capturing different poses and angles.

One of my favorite shots from that session was taken there.

Update: This post contains a lot of photos, so I organized them into expandable galleries to keep the page loading smoothly. Feel free to click each section to view the full gallery.

The reflections and colorful lights almost made it look like we were standing in the middle of a floating galaxy of planets — which worked perfectly for the cosplay.

    The Festival Atmosphere

While we were moving around the mall taking photos, I started noticing just how lively the Sakura Festival atmosphere was.

There were so many families walking around, curious shoppers stopping to admire the cosplayers, and lots of photographers carrying their cameras and lenses ready to capture the moment.

Every now and then someone would approach and politely ask if they could take a photo. Some were hobby photographers, others looked like seasoned camera enthusiasts with impressive camera gear.

But everyone was very respectful and friendly.

What made the experience even more fun was seeing other cosplayers around the mall. Sometimes we would run into each other and end up striking poses together for the cameras, creating spontaneous mini photo sessions in the middle of the crowd.

Moments like these are what make cosplay events so memorable.

It’s not just about the costumes or the photos — it’s also about the community, the interactions, and the shared excitement between fans, photographers, and cosplayers.

    A Sleepy Cosplayer

To be honest, I was sleepy as hell the entire time.

My circadian rhythm is very much used to working at night, since most of my work happens during nighttime hours. So attending an event like this during the day always feels a bit like fighting my own body clock.

But despite being half-awake most of the time, people were still incredibly gracious.

Meeting everyone — the photographers, fellow cosplayers, and even random people who just wanted a quick photo — was actually very comforting. The energy of the crowd kind of balances out the exhaustion.

Cosplay events really have that effect. Even if you arrive tired, the enthusiasm of everyone around you lifts your mood.

    A Short Visit from Mom

Later on, my mom also dropped by to see the event.

But like many parents who aren’t exactly deep into anime conventions or cosplay culture, she quickly got bored and decided to go home after a short while.

Still, it was nice that she came to check it out.

    The CLICK & UPLOAD Contest

For those who attended the event and want to participate in the contest, the mechanics are fairly simple.

    Participants need to:

    • Register at the booth beside the stage
    • Take photos within SM North EDSA mall premises
    • Upload the photo on Facebook

    The post should:

    • Tag both the photographer’s Facebook page and the cosplayer’s Facebook page
    • Include the hashtags

    #OzineSakuraFestival
    #SMNorthEdsa

After uploading, participants must submit the Facebook post link at the registration booth to qualify.

Photos must be set to Public, and AI-generated images are not allowed.

Participants can submit multiple entries, but for each photo, only one person (either the photographer or cosplayer) should upload it as the official entry.

    Contest Prizes

The contest winners are determined based on Facebook engagement:

    🏆 Most Reactions — ₱7,000
    🏆 Most Shares — ₱3,000

Sponsored or boosted posts are not allowed, so all reactions and shares must come organically.

    Final Thoughts

Joining the Ozine Fest Sakura Festival CLICK & UPLOAD contest turned out to be a really fun experience.

Between the cosplay photography, the interactions with photographers and fellow cosplayers, and just wandering around the mall enjoying the Sakura Festival atmosphere, the whole event felt relaxed and enjoyable.

Even if I was fighting my sleep schedule the entire time.

Cosplay events like this remind me why I still enjoy attending conventions after so many years. It’s not just about the costumes or the photos — it’s about the community and the small moments shared with people who love the same things you do.

If you happen to attend the Ozine Fest Sakura Festival at SM North EDSA, don’t forget to bring your camera and maybe join the photo contest too.

You might just capture your favorite shot of the day.
