Oh yes, I admit~ I keep on getting confused about the Celebrations and Events, I thought that my Google Calendar would even give me a hint~ except that it didn't. I just found out later while scrolling the Facebook newsfeed and an ad popped out, "Give a gift for your Mother on Mother's day" and I quickly stood up from my desk and hurriedly checked my laptop, "Oh God, when is Mother's day?"
So Mother's day is just a few days and what's worse, we're quarantined at home!
Here I was checking on every coupon site that can offer a great deal, but most I've seen would require you to go out, which is dangerous at the time of Pandemic, right?
I even looked out for a Photobook, as I was thinking it would best to give her something of a memory, but the shipping takes 7 days! I don't have 7 days to wait! Plus, again. It's a quarantine period. I can't go out!
I was stuck in a loophole and later on, I got tired in the loophole of search, since it was like 3 am in the morning, I was definitely exhausted only researching what I can give to my mom.
For now, I will retire for the evening...I said to myself.
Okay, I surrender for now~ but of course, that's one less day and the clock is ticking.
Every moment I spent will soon be another day less.
I slept for a few hours, and gladly when I woke up, I felt refreshed and ready to take on another day.
This time I've played on search keywords and scrolled again through endless Mother's Day Ideas. Most of them offer you to buy. Yeah, you've got to be kidding, there's no way that's arriving on time!
So I checked forums, it seems that Moms love it more when you give them something that supports their passion, especially those that they focus more on or they hope to do or spending most of their time.
If you're quite the observer, it's when you're mom makes them motivated, ones that are keeping their sparkles in their eyes.
My mom has two things she loves most,
Her garden and another is her life aspiration of becoming a writer.
I remember that Mom could not get her hands on some gardening tools because of the quarantine, however, we have a runner in the house who do shopping in the local grocery store, and I remember that they have a mini gardening section there.
There I thought to myself, "I was thinking way too far", the answer is just easier this time because people cannot go out of their houses, most of the perfect gifts are simpler because the things that they would not only want are those that support their need! Especially on these times...
Our runner suggested to also buy cake, although I am not sure if he would be able to acquire some especially that a Special Holiday is coming near.
I also think that giving her an ebook app about gardening or a funny short story niche or a good magazine subscription would be the best in combination with the Gardening tools and the cake. Otherwise, if the cake is not possible, I already have some flour here and I could whip up a simple cake in the kitchen, she would appreciate it more if we keep low in the sugar part, gladly the small weighing scale for food arrived a week ago and I can keep watch on the measurements if needed.
I hope this would turn out well~ cross fingers* but if you find yourself stuck with ideas on what to gift your mom or wife this Quarantine period, let me know, and let's brainstorm on the last-minute gift for her.
