This is not what you think it is~ I'm not selling this like in Sari-Sari store. I just thought to arrange them here, but I know in a few minutes, they'll be gone. I call them the Philippine Dagashi~ The word "Dagashi" refers to cheap snacks and candies sold in Japan, but we have that here too~ This one's we found at Puregold Shelf ~ Clover Bits Chicken Flavor and Taco-Bar-Q by Leslie's. Just from the nostalgic look of it, my partner would definitely be drawn to it.
PACKAGING
Much like a traditional Philippine Dagashi, these come in palm-sized packaging and the contents are really tiny. Its main goal is to let the kids enjoy snacks at some affordable pricing, usually priced less than a few cents or one peso coin.
Upon opening the package, it definitely brings me back~ It's like opening a small present. There are two ways to open it. One is, you'll use one of the tooth-like edges to provide an anchor for your hand to continue making a slit and the second one is you'll apply to pull force from both sides of the packages which is quite satisfying.
Clover chips for me have a finger size serving per chip, but this one seems to be even smaller! Like clover chips made for dwarfs! It's so cute. The Taco Bar-B-Q tastes saltier than that of chicken flavor, which is mild, and because the servings are so small, you won't notice you're munching in the whole pack! It just doesn't feel like the amount served is enough.
WAYS TO EAT
There are both ways,
One,
Pick-up those Tinie tiny pieces one by one and savor the flavor in each chip, or
Two,
Just let it drop in your mouth like how Hotaru does it.
